About Us…

Henry Ward Beecher once said, "Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven." But often times, parenting isn't so heavenly. There are diapers to be changed, lunch boxes that need to be packed, and crying tantrums to deal with. With all the hustle and bustle of things, it seems that life passes us by too quickly. But life itself is made up of precious small moments. With this in mind, Galveston Urban Ministries created Project Milestone. This website creates a list of milestones that help parents take a pause and celebrate the moments of development that happen every year that a child grows. Knowing that even Batman needed a toolbelt to do his superhero work, we also know parents can't do this empty-handed. This website also includes links to helpful websites that can help any super parent in their journey. The Project Milestone team knows this journey isn't easy. Just make sure to take a deep breath, and take it one step, and one moment at a time. Always remember, you are doing fine.

***Disclaimer

Some children are born ready to move, ready to raise their voices to the sky, and are little balls of energy.   Some children like to take it slow, look up at the clouds, and look at every little detail of the world around them.   Please know, although this website mentions guidelines, we understand that each child develops differently. Don't worry if your world changer's journey is a little slow or looks different than others.  They are meant to be different. Also note, although this website’s main goal is to be a resource to our parents, it shouldn't replace the advice of a licensed doctor. For concerns about your child's development or emergencies, please contact your child's doctor.
